A stroll across the atmospheric Eendrachtsplein in Rotterdam during the annual summer carnival reveals the eye-catching Photobooth of Dr. Pepper, an activation by Playground. For the thirsty passerby, a refreshing sample can of Dr. Pepper was offered for free but not without a purpose. In the photobooth, you had to have a photo taken on a green screen, and by using the tags #drpepper8bitexperience, #drpepperrepost, or #canyouhandlethetaste, you could win exciting prizes. The photobooth produced photos that were instantly printed or shared online, allowing passersby to immediately possess their photos.

No generator and cables

For the setup of the booth and the connection of the photobooth, power was required. Eendrachtsplein, a beautiful location at a strategic point in the middle of the city with a lot of passersby, lacked a power source. However, using a generator emitting odor, noise, and CO2 was not an option. Working with extension cables to ‘tap’ power from surrounding shops or a nearby resident would entail various safety measures. The Wattsun proved to be the ideal solution in this situation. Since the system could be installed right next to the photobooth, there was no need to lay cables.

People came and went, and ultimately, the photobooth ran for eight hours. Playground was able to go through the whole day without having to charge or replace modules, ensuring ultimate convenience!
