Energy supply at off-grid locations

The production of the music video ‘Slapeloosheid’ by Suzan & Freek presented unique challenges. Under the direction of director Cas Lebbink from COOL Creative, the film crew had to shoot a high-quality music video at two off-grid locations within two days. With our portable battery, the Wattsun Dock, we achieved a flexible and efficient energy supply for the recordings at remote locations. The locations included a remote lighthouse and a fishing boat, where they faced unpredictable weather conditions and the need for flexible power supply.

The use of Wattsun’s powerful generator was crucial for the success of this production. Cas Lebbink emphasized the importance of this mobile power supply, especially during the filming of the magical ‘golden hour’ at sunset. “The most beautiful light is only there for a very short time, so it’s extra important to be able to move and switch quickly,” explains Cas. Filming in the rain, with wind, and on a rocking boat is a challenge. Not only for the film crew but also for the equipment. The Wattsun Dock was mainly used in combination with a Vortex 8 lamp. Both the battery system and this light source are designed for changing weather conditions and are also mobile. Even during the boat shots, the Wattsun was an ideal solution. The deck didn’t stay dry, but that didn’t matter for the power supply.
